STEM Innovation Competition 2019

STEM innovation competition is a program that jointly organized by Mathematics, Science and Computer department, Politeknik Balik Pulau

Theme :-

Daily Life Hacker. Life Hack is a technique adopted in order to manage daily activities in more efficient way. The innovation is a product or tools to make our daily life activities easier 

​

Conditions of participations :- 

  • This competition is open to secondary school’s students (age from 13 to 17 in year 2019).

  • A team should comprise of 3 students and 1 teacher.

  • Team members must be from the same school.

​

Competition rules and regulations :- 

  • Project must be in accordance with the theme of the STEM innovation competition.

  • The idea of the project must be original.

  • Materials used for the project must be only from the recycle materials. Supporting tools for presentation are allowed with any other material. For example if you are inventing watering can, the flowers and flower pot are allowed to use other materials but watering can itself must be from the sets mention above.​

  • Adaptation of improving existing products can be accepted as long as the improvement is totally new.

Judging Process:-

  • All participants will make an exhibition and demonstration of their project on the competition day.

  • There will be a judging session. Projects will be evaluated by judges’ panel based on presentation and demonstration of projects.

  • During presentation and demonstration of project:​

    1. Participants will be provided with the table and chairs to exhibit and demonstrate their project.​

    2. Participants are given a time of 5 minutes to present and demonstrate their projects to judges’panel.

  • Evaluation will be made based on the following criteria:

    1. Level of originality, creativity and innovative projects.​

    2. Level of usability and application projects

    3. Level of engineering concept.

    4. Usage of renewable energy

    5. Presentation​

Due date for registration is 23 September 2019.
